For Hunter, it was worth the jet lag

Torii Hunter landed in Orange County at about 10:30 a.m. and came straight to Angel Stadium after taking a one-day detour to Arkansas to attend the high school graduation of his oldest son, Cameron. Hunter got permission to miss Tuesday night's game.

"I'm always gone. In 18 years of his life, I've never really gotten a chance to hang out with him all the time," Hunter said. "I missed a lot of games and different things like that. I didn't even tell him. He was shocked. When he saw me, he almost burst into tears. It was nice to see him walk across the stage and get his diploma."

The trip wasn't a cheap one. Hunter chartered a private jet and had to donate Tuesday's pay (around $100,000) to charity.
