Scioscia sympathizes with UCLA's Savage

Manager Mike Scioscia heard about UCLA sophomore Tyler Rahmatulla's broken wrist, which was sustained in the dogpile after his team clinched a trip to the College World Series on Sunday night. Scioscia can certainly relate. Like UCLA's John Savage, he lost one of his best players to a celebration injury.

Kendry Morales fractured his left ankle jumping on the plate after his game-winning grand slam May 29. Scioscia continues to lead the charge for more muted celebrations.

"This game is played with a lot of emotion. There absolutely has to be a release, whether it's a celebration in the clubhouse or on the field," Scioscia said. "But maybe we need to leave the dogpiles for the seventh game of the World Series."
