Scot Shields is back ... sort of

One of the best Angels relief pitchers of all time is back in camp looking like he's ready to pitch an inning or two. It's the first time Scot Shields has worn a uniform since September 2010.

"It feels weird, I can tell you that," Shields said. "It's a little different when you're not a player being in here, but it's been fun to be around the guys again."

Shields, in camp as a guest instructor, has spent his time living in the Detroit area and being a full-time father to his daughters, who are 9 and 7. He said he hasn't missed the competition and is in no hurry to embark on a coaching career.

Shields was named Sports Illustrated's Setup Man of the Decade. In a nine-year career, all with the Angels, he was 46-44 with a 3.18 ERA.
