Griffin: Western Conference Player of the Week

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin won his first career Western Conference Player of the Week award, the NBA announced Monday.

Griffin won the award for games played Dec. 3-9. The Clippers were 4-0 during that stretch and now are riding a six-game winning streak.

Griffin has averaged a point/rebound double-double in leading the Clippers to an undefeated December so far. Among Western Conference players during the week of the award, Griffin ranked ninth in scoring with 23 points per game, seventh in rebounding with 10 boards per game and second in steals with 2.5 per game.

This month Griffin is averaging 21.2 points, 10 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals in just 30.4 minutes per game. Griffin leads all Clippers this season in points per game (18) and rebounds per game (9.1).
