DeAndre Jordan reacts to trade talks

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan doesn’t know what team he’ll be on by the end of the week but is fully prepared to continue his career in Los Angeles or with the Boston Celtics.

“Either way I’d be doing the thing that I love and that’s playing basketball,” Jordan said Thursday while on “Mike & Mike” on ESPN Radio. “I’m a Clipper right now and I’m a Clipper until someone tells me otherwise, and I’m going to try to make the best of my opportunities in my professional career. I love it and I’m going to keep taking it a day at a time.”

Sources told ESPN.com that the Clippers and Celtics were inching toward a deal that would see the Clippers trading Jordan and two first round draft picks to the Celtics for Kevin Garnett and two first round draft picks.

There have also been reports that Chris Paul may have pushed the Clippers to get the deal done after talks fell apart on Tuesday. Jordan said the reports have not affected his relationship with Paul or any of his teammates.

“I don’t think a player can make trades,” Jordan said. “That’s an upstairs decision. That’s a management decision and I’m going to support the Clippers 110 percent in whatever they decide to do. Whatever decision it is it’s for the better of our team and us moving on in the future. There are definitely no hard feelings against any player because players don’t make trades. Upstairs and coaches do so I’m not really worried about it.”

Jordan would like to continue his career in Los Angeles, where he was drafted by the Clippers in the second round of the 2008 draft. Jordan, however, understands if the next chapter of his career takes him to Boston.

“I’ve been with the Clippers since I was 19,” Jordan said. “That’s all I know. I love L.A. I love the Clippers. I love my teammates and everything that we stand for. But at the end of the day it is a business and like I said I’ll still be doing the same thing that I love, which is playing basketball, and no matter which team I’m on I’ll still be having a great time.”
