Jamal Crawford, who was hoping to return after missing seven of the past eight games with a strained left calf, also did not make the trip with the team. And neither did J.J. Redick, who is sidelined indefinitely with a bulging disk in his lower back.
“He didn’t make the trip,” Rivers said of Collison. “Yesterday and this morning he wasn’t [feeling well]. It’s good that we have a couple days off so he should be good.”
The injury domino effect at shooting guard means a second straight start for Willie Green in place of Collison, who was starting in place of Crawford, who was starting in place of Redick.
Collison, who likely will be back for the Clippers' next game, on Saturday against the Detroit Pistons, has started 26 of 68 games for the Clippers this season, with the team going 20-6 with him in the starting lineup. Collison is averaging 16.3 points per game in March, while shooting 49.4 percent from the field.
