Los Angeles Clippers guard J.J. Redick is planning to return during the team's next three home games, possibly as soon as Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks, sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.
Redick has been out since mid-February because of a bulging disk in his lower back. At the time, it wasn't known whether Redick would be able to return at all this season, but he has been able to ramp up his activity level in recent weeks and is close to a return, sources said.
Redick has been a valuable contributor for the Clippers this season after coming over in a sign-and-trade from the Milwaukee Bucks last summer.
The sharp-shooting guard is averaging 15.7 points on 46 percent shooting from the field in 30 games this season.
