Playoff fact -- In addition to the Kings and Ducks qualifying for the playoffs in the same season for the first time, Nashville also features a Southland touch. Predators defenseman Jonathon Blum was the first Southern California native to be selected in the first round of the NHL draft. Blum, 21, grew up in Rancho Santa Margarita and briefly attended Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo.
