A quick update from El Segundo totally unrelated to Ron Artest. Phil Jackson said Andrew Bynum "wants to" play Thursday against the Spurs, and expressed some optimism about the big man's availability after missing Tuesday's game against Houston with the bone bruise in his left knee.
"He was out there doing good," said Jackson of Bynum during practice. "We went through limited work today and he was out performing. It's not high energy. But he looked OK. He looked like he's ready."
Bynum didn't meet with reporters Wednesday afternoon.
As Jackson noted before the Rockets game, bone bruises are tricky to predict. So I'd keep my fingers crossed, but until more definitive news comes (perhaps from Thursday's shootaround), treat nothing as set in stone.
