Earlier in the day I passed on the news Mo Williams will miss tonight's game against the Lakers in Cleveland (click here for a preview with former coach/current TNT broadcaster Mike Fratello) thanks to a shoulder sprain. Turns out Williams will miss a few more. 4-6 weeks worth, specifically, say the Cavs.
It's a huge blow to LeBron and Co., and could obviously have an impact on the chase for the NBA's best record and home court advantage through the playoffs. The Lakers may be facing a tough February schedule, but at least (right now, knock on wood) they'll do it at full strength.
Just goes to show how fast things can change over the course of an 82-game season, and how that which looks one way in January may not in February or certainly by June. Health is the great wild card in any chase for a title, and today Cleveland takes the hit.
