Jordan Hill pleads no contest to assault charge

Lakers big man Jordan Hill appeared in Houston court Thursday and entered a no contest plea to charges of assaulting a former girlfriend. As a result of the plea, the charges have been reduced from felony to misdemeanor, and he'll pay a fee of $500, undergo counseling and spend a year on probation.

This should put to bed any questions as to whether his legal status could affect his availability with the Lakers. Several readers have asked us for updates on Hill's case throughout the offseason, but you obviously never know until the matter is officially settled.
