A girls' basketball and track coach at Bellflower High School has been arrested and charged with sexual assault against a former student, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Bryan Shepherd, 47, was taken into custody by Los Angeles Sheriff's Special Victims Bureau detectives on Tuesday and is being held in lieu of $3 million bail.
Shepherd is suspected of sexually assaulting the former student over a period of four years. He has been a coach at Bellflower High School for five years.
Deputies said the investigation is ongoing and they believe there might be more victims.
