The Mater Dei baseball team won the National High School Invitational tournament in Cary, N.C., 3-2 in eight innings, over Harvard-Westlake.
Ryan Barr drove in the winning run on bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eighth inning and completed the comeback for Mater Dei (11-3).
Harvard-Westlake had a 2-0 lead in the third inning. Mater Dei's Davis Tominaga hit a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the score, 2-2.
Max Fried had an RBI single in the third inning for Harvard-Westlake (13-3-1). Arden Pabst knocked in Joe Corrigan with a double to give Harvard-Westlake a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Chase Radan started the game for Mater Dei. Ty Moore earned the win pitching four innings in relief.
