DeAnthony Thomas, Crenshaw, Sr.

Finally, a "Black Mamba" sighting. Thomas, considered by many as the City Section's top player, scored four touchdowns and had 171 yards of total offense, guiding Crenshaw to a 53-12 victory at rival Dorsey. He had touchdown receptions of 23, 24 and 37 yards, and also scored on a 36-yard run. Thomas had an interception on defense, returning it 49 yards before he was pushed out of bounds inches from the goal line.

Megan Moenoa, Lakewood, Sr.

The senior setter had 30 assists Thursday to help Lakewood to a stunning upset of No. 1-seeded Harvard-Westlake in the CIF Southern Section Ford Girls' Division I Volleyball Playoffs. The Lancers didn't just win, they swept: 25-22, 25-20, 25-22.
