CIF state girls second-round games

The CIF state girls championships continue tonight with second round games. Long Beach Poly, the top-seeded team in the Division I Southern California bracket, gets Stockdale of Bakersfield.

Long Beach Poly, the No. 6 team in ESPN’s Fab 50 and the No. 4 team in the West Region ranked by ESPN Rise, beat Washington Prep, 71-27, in the first round.

Stockdale beat Carson, 78-72, in a bit of an upset in the first round.

Clovis West, the No. 2 seed in the Southern California bracket, hosts San Diego. Clovis West beat Taft of Woodland Hills, 84-53, in the first round. San Diego narrowly escaped Troy, 43-42.

Santa Monica, the No. 3 seed in the Southern California bracket, is home against Canyon Springs. Santa Monica beat Narbonne, 54-39. Canyon Springs eliminated Etiwanda, 72-62.

No. 4 Santiago hosts Summit in the second round. Santiago beat Ayala, 62-52. Summit rolled past Poway, 68-55.
