LA North: Agoura baseball team wins two in a row at Don Lugo Tournament

The Agoura baseball team pulled off a dramatic, come-from-behind, 8-7, win over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in the Don Lugo Tournament on Monday. Agoura scored all eight of its runs in the sixth inning.

Tyler Cohen scored the game-winning run on two-run single by Mark Seyler with two outs in the sixth. Cohen was 2-for-3 in the game.

Notre Dame’s Nick Picciolo was 2-for-4 with a home run and drove in five runs. Max Fecske was 3-for-4 with a double for Notre Dame.

Agoura came back on Tuesday and beat Ventura, 9-7, in the Don Lugo Tournament.

St. Paul Tournament: Simi Valley beat Crespi of Encino, 13-2, on Monday. Reece Schmidt drove in four runs.

Crespi beat Merced, 3-1, earlier in the tournament behind a four-hitter from Andy Frakes.

St. Bonaventure shut out St. Francis, 6-0. Millikan beat Calabasas in a slug fest, 11-10.

On Tuesday, St. Bonaventure made it two in a row with a 14-3 win over Los Altos.

Simi Valley won its 10th game in a row with an 11-4 win over Wilmington Banning and a 4-2 win over St. Bonaventure.

Crespi beat St. Paul, 10-3, and La Mirada, 8-2. St. Francis lost to La Mirada, 7-4, but bounced back to beat St. Paul, 4-2. Calabasas lost to Long Beach Wilson, 9-7.

Valley Mission League: San Fernando starter Jose Reyes struck out nine in his team’s 8-1 win over Sylmar. Reyes drove in two runs and had a triple at the plate.

Van Nuys beat Reseda, 14-6. Israel Zuniga hit a home run and drove in four runs for Van Nuys. Ricardo MacFarlene was 3-for-3.
