One of the standards of the holiday season is the Orange Holiday Classic, and it opened Monday at Chapman University with a dandy game between Anaheim Canyon and Yorba Linda. Canyon won, 54-50, as sophomore Anthony Ballestero scored a career-high 18 points, 14 in the fourth quarter.
The game featured 23 lead changes and eight ties. Coach Nate Harrison said of Ballestero, "We've had great point guards here over the last seven years, and he's just the next in a long line of talented players."

In addition to Canyon, the tournament features Orange Lutheran, Tustin and Foothill.
