C.V. boys reach soccer title game

The Crescenta Valley boys' soccer team advanced to its first CIF championship game in school history Tuesday.

The Falcons beat Oak Hills from Hesperia, 5-3, on penalty kicks in the semifinals of the CIF-Southern Section Division 4 soccer playoffs.

“The guys have worked a long time for this,” Crescenta Valley coach Grant Clark said.

The score was tied 1-1 after regulation. Pavle Atanackovic scored for Crescenta Valley on a penalty kick in the second half. Crescenta Valley continued its undefeated season and improved to 20-0-6.

The Falcons will play El Rancho from Pico Rivera in the championship game on Friday or Saturday.
