Quartz Hill, Notre Dame shine at Arcadia

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and Quartz Hill had some impressive performances on the first day of the Arcadia Invitational. Notre Dame won the men’s 4x110-meter seeded shuttle hurdles and Aiden Elias was second in the high jump.

Quartz Hill won the men’s 4x1,600-meter seeded relay and Lohnnie Tape-Jackson was third in the high jump.

Here are some highlights from the first day of the Arcadia Invitational track and field meet:

Nicki Ghazarian from Westlake won the girls' 3,200 rated race in 10:55.83.

Alemany’s Alex Mikrakis won the boys' high jump in 1.96 meters. Aiden Elias from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame was second at 1.91 meters and Lohnnie Tape-Jackson from Quartz Hill was third at 1.91 meters.

The Simi Valley girls were second in the 4x200 rated relay in 1:42.74. Cajon won the race in 1:42.60. Simi Valley was also the runner-up in the girls' 4x1,600 invitational relay in 20:28.71. La Costa Canyon won the race in 20:23.88.

Rio Mesa won the 4x200 boys' invitational relay in 1:26.79.

Newbury Park won the 4x800 boys' seeded relay in 7:50.23.

Quartz Hill won the 4x1,600 boys' seeded relay in 18:00.52.

Harvard-Westlake won the girls' 1,600 sprint medley invitational race in 3:56.34.

Ventura won the boys' 1,600 sprint medley invitational relay in 3:329.59.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame won the boys' 4x110 seeded shuttle hurdle race in 1:03.74.
