A first for Notre Dame girls' golf

The Sherman Oaks Notre Dame girls' golf team won the CIF Southern Section Northern Team Divisional, the first in school history, at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai on Wednesday.

The Knights shot 376 as a team and won the team divisional by 42 strokes over runner-up St. Joseph from Santa Maria. All six golfers from Notre Dame broke 80 on the par 72 course.

Katelyn Reynolds was one of two girls to shoot under par. She shot a 2-under 70 to lead Notre Dame.

The top four teams in the Northern Team Divisional advanced to the Southern Section finals at the Rivers Course at Alisal in Solvang on Nov. 3.

Sophia Chen from Thousand Oaks shot a 1-under par 71 and paced her team to a third-place finish in the team divisional. Oxnard finished in fourth place and clinched the final berth to the Southern Section finals.

Notre Dame's Tina Nagal and Sammy Winchester each shot 4-over pars 76, while Stephanie Bush and Arielle Valdez were each 5-over par, 77. Kathryn Newton shot 6-over par 78.
