LA North: Big day for West Valley League teams in City Section baseball playoffs

It was a big day for the West Valley League baseball teams in the City Section Division 1 playoffs.

Granada Hills had the biggest day, knocking out fourth-seeded Wilmington Banning, 4-2, behind a complete-game gem from Nathaniel Pyle.

Top-seeded Chatsworth won big, 15-0, over Westchester. Steve Karkenny hit a home run for Chatsworth.

Birmingham stayed alive with a 10-3 win over San Pedro. Birmingham starter Kevin Torres struck out 12.
