FIFA U-20 WORLD CUP

The Spaniards are Europe's best at every age group, it seems, and they're among the best in this tournament. A victory here could set a quarterfinal against Brazil.

Nigeria vs. England, ESPNU, 9:30 p.m.

RECOPA SUDAMERICANA

Internacional (Brazil) at Independiente (Argentina)

The South American schedule doesn't exactly follow Europe's, but consider this the start of the new campaign. The Copa Sudamericana winner is home for the first leg against last year's Copa Libertadores champion.

Copa Sudamericana

Sao Paulo (Brazil) at Ceara (Brazil), Fox Deportes, 5:30 p.m.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY

Mexico at United States

ESPN2 and Univision (KMEX/Channel 34), 6 p.m.

Juergen Klinsmann debuts as U.S. coach in Philadelphia against the Yanks' archrivals, a rematch of June's CONCACAF Gold Cup final won by Mexico -- the end of Bob Bradley's tenure. The most anticipated friendly the Americans have played since, well, ever.
