MLS: FC Dallas clinches playoff berth

FC Dallas is the fourth team to qualify for Major League Soccer's playoffs after halting a four-game losing streak with Wednesday's 2-1 victory at Chicago.

Jackson Goncalves and Danny Cruz tallied for the Hoops (14-11-7), who sit fourth in the Western Conference and overall standings, two points behind Real Salt Lake (15-11-6) in a fight to avoid a wild-card assignment. The top three teams in each conference are seeded into the main eight-team playoff bracket.

Sebastian Grazzini scored a late goal for Chicago (7-9-16), which remains alive by the smallest of margins.

The Galaxy (18-4-10) has clinched the No. 1 seed in the West, and Seattle (16-7-9) likely will finish second.
