April 21/22: What to watch, where to go

Chelsea at Arsenal

ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, 4:30 a.m.

The Blues are buzzing after beating Barcelona on Didier Drogba's goal in the UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg, and they're desperate for points against their fellow Londoners. They're sixth, two points behind Tottenham and Newcastle United, which occupy England's last Champions League and lone Europa League slots with five games to go. Too bad a knee injury will keep Drogba out.

Real Madrid at Barcelona

ESPN Deportes, 10:50 a.m./GolTV, 11 a.m.

The two biggest, best clubs on the planet meet for the sixth time this season (with a UEFA Champions League title appearance possible next month, although both must overcome semifinal first-leg losses to do so), and Barça, once 10 points off the pace, can cut Real's lead to a single point with a victory at the Nou Camp. The Catalans are 3-0-2 in the first five encounters. Replays: ESPN Deportes, 3 and 6 p.m.; GolTV, 6 and 10 p.m.

Telemundo (KVEA/Channel 52), 5 p.m.

Chivas' surge a few weeks ago is long past -- three straight league losses and a 5-0 failure to bow out of Copa Libertadores -- and Ignacio Ambriz, in charge since January, stepped down Wednesday. Johan Cruyff is involved, and that could lead to big things, but for the moment the Goats are consumed with winning the Clasico Tapatio, the oldest local rivalry in Mexican soccer, dating back 96 years.

KDOC/Channel 56 and KWHY/Channel 22, 6 p.m.

L.A. took a huge step forward last week -- more so how it played than the result, which was a good one -- but Colorado on the road, in elevation, is a greater challenge than a struggling Portland team at HDC.

Houston Dynamo at Columbus Crew, MLS Direct Kick, 4:30 p.m.

FC Dallas at Vancouver Whitecaps, MLS Direct Kick, 7 p.m.

Perth Glory at Brisbane Roar

Fox Soccer Channel, 9:30 p.m.

The Roar, with Besart Berisha pouring in 17 goals in 29 games, comfortably won the regular season and now look to claim their second successive Grand Final triumph. Perth needed penalties to overcame Central Coast Mariners, last year's runner-up, in the semifinals.

Fullerton Rangers at FC Santa Clarita Storm

Valencia High School, 6 p.m.

The Fullerton Rangers are 5-0 against NPSL West Division-Southern Conference foes, the last two in league play as they've surged atop the table. Santa Clarita is second in the West-Southern after last week's nine-goal performance.

Philadelphia Union at Chivas USA

Home Depot Center (Carson), 7:30 p.m.

Chivas is 3-0 on the road, outscoring Real Salt Lake, Portland and Toronto FC, 4-1. At home, the Goats are 0-3 without a goal. They'll look to end that skid against a young Union side that won for the first time last weekend.

TV: Prime Ticket (English) and KWHY/Channel 22 (Spanish, 8 p.m.)

Everton at Manchester United

Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Deportes, 4:30 a.m.

The most valuable sports team on earth? That would be Man United, according to Forbes, worth some $2.24 billion. The Red Devils are best in England, too, streaking toward a fifth EPL title in six years. Replays: Fox Deportes, 2 p.m.; FSC, 3 p.m.

AS Roma at Juventus

Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Deportes, 11:30 a.m.

America at Puebla

Azteca America (KAZA/Channel 54) and ESPN Deportes, 1:55 p.m.

Successive wins over Guadalajara and Santos Laguna nailed down a playoff berth for the Aguilas, who rely heavily on Ecuadoran striker Christian Benitez (11 goals). Even victory could eliminate Puebla from the race.

Jaguares de Chiapas at Pumas UNAM, Univision (KMEX/Channel 34), 10 a.m.

Thierry Henry has seven goals and five assists through six games -- and the Red Bulls are averaging nearly three goals a game. D.C. United's numbers aren't so splendid, but they're just two points behind New York. Replay: ESPN Deportes, 10:30 p.m.
