2012 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Spain vs. France

ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, 11:30 a.m.

The Spaniards are looking for their third straight major championship, and they weren't expecting France this soon. Laurent Blanc's side had gone 23 games without a loss before it was outclassed by Sweden in the Group D finale, and if the effort's no better here, the French head home. Replays: ESPN2, 4:30 p.m. and 3 a.m.; ESPN Deportes, 6 p.m.

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER

Chivas USA at FC Dallas

Galavision, 6 p.m.

The Goats have lost just once, to the best team in MLS, in its last eight games, and sits just one point out of the playoff zone after Juan Pablo Angel's header beat Montreal on Wednesday night. FC Dallas has been a dismal disappointment of injuries, red cards and ineptness and hasn't won in two months.

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER

San Jose Earthquakes at Real San Jose

MLS Direct Kick, 6 p.m.

The Quakes have a knack for late victories, and Real Salt Lake just squandered a second-half lead against the Galaxy. The top two teams in the Supporters' Shield standings are separated by two points, little else.

San Diego SeaLions at Ajax America

Nansen Field (Rolling Hills Estates), 3:30 p.m.

NATIONAL PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE

San Diego Boca at FC Hasental

Rancho Santa Susana Community Park (Simi Valley), 5 p.m.

Thousand Oaks' FC Hasental hasn't won in a month, slipping down the Southern Conference standings. Boca has won just once in the span and sit one spot above Los Conejos, by one point. Fourth place is on the line.

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER

Vancouver Whitecaps at Galaxy

Home Depot Center (Carson), 7:30 p.m.

The Galaxy are coming off back-to-back victories over Portland and, in a thrilling comeback, Real Salt Lake, and they believe they really are starting to get back to where they were last year. The 'Caps are one of the big stories in the league: 25 points and third in the West, ahead of Seattle, L.A., Colorado ...

2012 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

England vs. Italy

ESPN and ESPN Deportes, 11:30 a.m.

England hasn't exactly impressed, but it has gleaned results, won its group and is champing for a showdown with old rival Germany in the semifinals. Wayne Rooney's presence makes anything possible, and there are some young attackers worth watching, too. Italy is Italy: always around, always dangerous. Replay: ESPN Deportes, 3 p.m.

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER

Seattle Sounders at Portland Timbers

ESPN and ESPN Deportes, 2 p.m.

MLS's longest-serving, most heated and most colorful rivalry is renewed in the Rose City, where hatred -- not just extreme dislike -- for the Sounders is a birthright. Portland's four-game unbeaten streak ended with a loss last weekend to the Galaxy, and Seattle is slumping, winless in its last six league matches. Replay: ESPN Deportes, 10:30 p.m.
