Stars head to HDC for Rafa Marquez charity game

Mexico national team star Rafael Marquez and actress Eva Longoria Parker have teamed up to bring top players from around the world, current and past, to Home Depot Center for a charity 7-on-7 game Saturday afternoon.

Among those expected to play in the 1 p.m. event are Mexican stars Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Giovani Dos Santos, Andres Guardado and Oswaldo Sanchez, and former stars Luis Hernandez and Alberto Coyote.

Others on the roster include Bulgaria's Hristo Stoitchkov, Brazil's Careca, Colombia's Carlos Valderrama and France's Eric Abidal.

Tickets are $30 and available through Ticketmaster or at the HDC box office, and proceeds will go to Marquez's Futbol y Corazon/Rafa Marquez Foundation (which is building children's centers in Zamora, Michoacon, and Saltillo, Coahuila, and supporting a social program geared to at-risk Mexican youths), and to Longoria Parker's Eva's Heroes (which is building a complex in San Antonio to care for disabled and special-needs children).
