GALAXY: Four World Cup players in Real Madrid's lineup

The Galaxy's game with Real Madrid is about to kickoff, and there's a good crowd at the Rose Bowl, although nothing like the 93,137 that packed this place for L.A.'s game against FC Barcelona last year.

Galaxy midfielder Clint Mathis, who is playing his final professional game after announcing his retirement earlier this week, is being honored before the game begins. He is in the Galaxy lineup and wearing the captain's armband.

Real Madrid's starting XI includes four World Cup players: Spanish defenders Sergio Ramos, who is serving as captain, and Raul Albiol, Argentine midfielder Angel Di Maria and Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, who is partnering French star Karim Benzema up front.

German midfielder Sami Khedira, who just arrived from VfB Stuttgart isn't on the game roster, but six other South Africa veterans are on the bench: Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas, defender Alvaro Arbeloa and midfielder Xabi Alonso, Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain and Portuguese defender Pepe and forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

The starting lineups:

Galaxy: Donovan Ricketts; Sean Franklin, Omar Gonzalez, Gregg Berhalter, Todd Dunivant; Michael Stephens, Juninho, Chris Birchall, Landon Donovan; Edson Buddle, Clint Mathis.

Real Madrid: Jerzy Dudek; Sergio Ramos, Raul Albiol, Ezequiel Garay, Royston Ricky Drenthe; Lassana Diarra, Esteban Granero, Angel Di Maria, Mahamadou Diarra; Karim Benzema, Rafael van der Vaart.
