Best Bets Nov. 25/26: What to watch/where to go

THURSDAY, NOV. 25

  • TELEVISION

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Lyon at Schalke 04

Fox Deportes, 11 a.m.

The last of Fox's Champions League telecasts this week is a one-day delay. We won't spoil things by revealing the score. Replay: Fox Soccer Channel, 5 p.m.

COPA SUDAMERICANA

LDU Quito at Independiente

Fox Deportes, 4:30 p.m.

The defending champs from Ecuador were in perfect position after taking a three-goal lead in the first leg of the semifinals in South America's No. 2 club competition. The Argentines answered with two strikes and would advance, on away goals, with a 1-0 victory at home.

MEXICAN PRIMERA DIVISION

Santos Laguna at America

Galavision, 5 p.m.

The Aguilas are tough to beat at Azteca, as Santos well knows: America won the Apertura regular-season matchup, 3-2, back on Sept. 26, as Matias Vuoso scored twice and a superb defensive effort kept the visitors silent through the second half. The stakes are far higher as the semifinals start.

Other game

Monterrey at Pumas UNAM, Telemundo (KVEA/Channel 52), 7 p.m.

FRIDAY, NOV. 26

  • TELEVISION

COPA LIBERTADORES

2011 Draw

Fox Deportes, 11 a.m.

Who will be drawn with whom for South America's club championship? We'll find out here.

FRIENDLY

L.A. Galaxy at Newcastle Jets

Fox Soccer Channel, 12:30 a.m. (Saturday)

The Galaxy finish off a fine if disappointing campaign in Australia, and the Jets -- not one of the A-League's powers, to be sure -- care most that David Beckham will be on the field. It's also a farewell for Eddie Lewis and Chris Klein.
