LOS ANGELES -- UCLA Bruins offensive lineman Greg Capella missed Saturday's loss to Oregon State because of a concussion and his availability for this week is still being evaluated, coach Jim Mora said Sunday.
"We hope to know something by [Monday] or Tuesday," Mora said. "We really need to know something so we can plan, but as you guys know, we’ve got to make sure with head injuries and we are erring on the side of caution."
Capella was scheduled to replace Jeff Baca at right guard, but he suffered the concussion during practice late last week. Mora then had hopes that Baca, who has an undisclosed head issue, would be able to play Saturday; but he was a game-time scratch after the team medical staff did not clear him to play.
Mora hinted that he would have more details about Baca on Monday.
"I think that we’ll have a much better idea and hopefully a very clear picture of what the future is for him tomorrow," Mora said.
