The Bruins used a seven-run ninth to run away from Washington.

The No. 12-ranked Bruins (33-10, 9-8 Pac-10) led by a run heading into the last frame before pulling away from the Huskies (25-21, 8-9) with a seven-run ninth.

Freshman Cody Keefer and sophomore Steve Rodriguez -- the last two batters in the lineup -- combined to go four for nine with seven runs batted in. Keefer's home run (his first in college) in the second inning gave the Bruins a 3-1 lead. Rodriguez belted two -- his second to open the ninth.

UCLA goes for the sweep on Sunday afternoon. Junior left-hander Rob Rasmussen (6-2, 3.59 ERA) will take the hill.
