Former UCLA safety Rahim Moore was taken 45th overall by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday.
Moore, the first safety selected, said last week that he believed he had first-round potential but admitted he would likely be taken on the second day. Moore made the trip to New York and sat in the green room Thursday. He was back Friday and, as he accurately predicted last week, broke down when his name was called.
Moore, a history buff, will have the chance to take pointers from 16-year veteran safety Brian Dawkins. He was congratulated by former Broncos safety John Lynch as he made his way to the stage.
