UCLA freshman linebacker Mike Orloff will have knee surgery to repair the ACL in his left knee and will miss the season, coach Rick Neuheisel said.
Orloff (6-3, 215) was going to have a difficult time cracking the lineup as a freshman in a deep linebackers squad anyway, so he will use his redshirt season.
"He came in with the loose ACL," Neuheisel said. "He had a knee surgery, we knew about it and we thought he would be ready to go. But there was too much swelling so we’re going to fix it and get him ready by spring ball."
