UCLA women smother Nebraska early

So much for tournament jitters.

Coach Nikki Caldwell has thrown about every defensive look at No. 1 seeded Nebraska so far, as No. 8 seeded UCLA leads 15-6 after the first five minutes of their second-round match.

The Bruins began with a defensive pressure that was not seen at the start against N.C. State last Sunday, trapping the corners and showing a half-court press. The Cornhuskers have five turnovers.

UCLA jumped out to a 7-0 advantage following a lay up by Jasmine Dixon and jumpers from Doreena Campbell and Markel Walker.

Walker is a perfect 3-for-3 for a game-high six points, but she twisted her ankle and is getting treatment on the bench.
