All nine players who signed with USC as early enrollees for the spring semester have begun taking classes at the university, a USC spokesperson confirmed Tuesday.
Eight of the nine -- fullback Soma Vainuku was missing -- were introduced during a timeout at Sunday's USC-UCLA basketball game at the Galen Center. Quarterbacks Max Wittek and Cody Kessler received the largest applause out of the group after each performing well during televised high-school All-American games last week.
Vainuku had originally committed to USC as a member of the 2010 recruiting class but wasn't able to finish his high school qualifications in time to enroll at USC for the fall 2010 semester -- instead going back to Eureka (Ca.) High to complete the requirements. He got his paperwork for this semester finalized Monday, the spokesperson said.
The other players who have officially enrolled are: offensive linemen Jeremy Galten and David Garness, linebacker Dallas Kelley, cornerback Isiah Wiley, kicker Andre Heidari and long snapper Peter McBride.
All nine players are expected to participate in spring practice, which will begin in March.
