Dolphins seek more answers in preseason finale

The Miami Dolphins will wrap up their preseason at 7 p.m. ET Thursday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Sun Life Stadium. Here are a couple of things to watch for during the game:

Why watch: It’s the final chance to see the Dolphins before the games really matter. There are a couple of competitions still open at safety and kicker. Walt Aikens and Michael Thomas will compete at safety to replace the injured Louis Delmas (knee), and Caleb Sturgis and Andrew Franks have gone down to the wire at kicker. This also is an important game for a lot of Dolphins players on the bottom of the roster trying to earn spots as backups and on special teams.

Did you know: This is the second game in five days at the renovated Sun Life Stadium. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross financed his own stadium improvements in two phases, and the first phase debuted last weekend. Not everything went perfectly. But Thursday is another trial run. Miami’s next home game will be Sept. 27 against the Buffalo Bills.
