Miami morning take: Pats' gamesmanship?

Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Friday from around the web:

  • Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald wonders if the New England Patriots are playing games by placing quarterback Tom Brady on the injury report with a throwing shoulder.

Morning take: Miami put its quarterback -- Ryan Tannehill -- on the injury report with the same ailment on Wednesday. It would seem a little petty for New England to mess with the Dolphins in that way. However, you can never doubt the potential of gamesmanship with Bill Belichick.

  • Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post writes Hall of Famer Dan Marino would like to be involved in a front-office job.

Morning take: When you were as good as Marino, that competitiveness doesn’t go away. Marino looks at a former rival like John Elway and thinks he has the same potential. However, the Dolphins are going in a different direction.

  • The Sun Sentinel previews five matchups the Dolphins must win against the Patriots.

Morning take: Defending New England Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski is arguably the biggest matchup. Miami struggles defending tight ends and Gronkowski is one of the best.

Morning take: The Dolphins improved for one game against a Buffalo Bills team that’s struggled against the run. I need to see if Miami can keep this up for a couple more games before I consider the ground game trending upwards.
