Cordrea Tankersley, Davon Godchaux are Dolphins' rookie standouts

Here’s a look at how the Miami Dolphins rookies have fared during the first half of the season:

Charles Harris, DE, first round: The Dolphins knew ahead of time that Harris was a long-term play. He remains a raw prospect and backup to veteran starters Cameron Wake and Andre Branch. Harris, who has played in every game so far with one start, must work on his run defense to eventually become an every-down player. Grade: Average

Raekwon McMillan, LB, second round: The former Ohio State product was on his way to earning a starting job as a rookie until suffering a season-ending knee injury during the preseason. McMillan likely will be Miami's starting middle linebacker in 2018. Grade: Incomplete

Cordrea Tankersley, CB, third round: The rookie cornerback took the starting job away from veteran Byron Maxwell in Week 4 and has held it since. Tankersley is a confident player who has held his own. Grade: Above average

Isaac Asiata, G, fifth round: Asiata came to Miami with plenty of college experience but has been a disappointment so far. He is not NFL-ready on a team that has struggled at the guard position. Grade: Below average

Davon Godchaux, DT, fifth round: Godchaux pushed defensive tackle Jordan Phillips to the limit in training camp and even started three games this season when Phillips was injured. Godchaux has been good against the run while giving a breather to starters Phillips and Ndamukong Suh. Grade: Above average

Vincent Taylor, DT, sixth round: Taylor hasn't been as good as Godchaux. But he's been solid enough to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. The former Oklahoma State product has shown power and burst in the middle of the defense as well. Grade: Average

Isaiah Ford, WR, seventh round: Ford was a longshot to make the Dolphins' 53-man roster in training camp. Therefore, his season-ending knee injury in the summer bought Ford another year to get healthy and learn the NFL game from the sideline as he tries to make the team in 2018. Grade: Incomplete
