The Miami Dolphins had an 8-8 season and just missed the playoffs by one game. But there were several impressive individual performances in 2013, and that was reflected in Miami's five selections to ESPN.com's All-AFC East team.
Cornerback Brent Grimes, punter Brandon Fields, tight end Charles Clay and wide receivers Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline all made the cut. A case also can be made for Mike Pouncey at center and defensive ends Olivier Vernon (11.5 sacks) and Cameron Wake (8.5 sacks), who were snubbed.
The Dolphins certainly have quality depth at a lot of positions. But with a .500 finish, they failed to live up to their potential this season.
