Poll results: Ownership issue in Miami?

Miami Dolphins fans have spoken.

Last Friday, ESPN.com’s Dolphins page asked Miami fans what was the biggest issue with their team. The Dolphins completed five consecutive non-winning seasons in 2013. There are myriad reasons Miami finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs.

But according to Dolphins fans, the biggest issue with team is ownership. Miami fans do not have much confidence in Stephen Ross, despite the fact he is willing to spend to improve the team. Ross received about 32 percent of the vote. His decision to make the general manager and head coach equal scared off a lot of top GM candidates.

In second place was the internal drama in Miami at about 23 percent. Former Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland had a falling out with coach Joe Philbin and vice president of football administration. There also was a high-profile bullying scandal that caused a huge distraction during the season.

Poor coaching earned about 21 percent of the vote. Philbin is 15-17 in two seasons and enters an important third year for this long-term security. Lack of talent came in fourth at about 15 percent.
