Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Wednesday from around the Web:
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes doesn’t want the franchise tag.
Morning take: This is the obvious reaction, but the Dolphins hold the cards. They can bring him back for one year if Grimes can’t reach a long-term agreement.
Former Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo had some interesting comments on Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Morning take: Angelo was pretty clear that Tannehill wasn’t a franchise quarterback. Year 3 will be huge for Tannehill to prove his critics wrong.
The Dolphins team site is awarding the Defensive Player of the Year.
Morning take: It should be Grimes, who turned out to be the best and most dependable defensive player this year. Defensive ends Cameron Wake and Oliver Vernon also had solid seasons.
Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post writes Cleveland Browns GM Ray Farmer shuns the Dolphins.
Morning take: Farmer bluntly said the Miami job wasn’t for him Tuesday. But Cleveland is just as dysfunctional. Both teams will be interesting to watch next year.
