The Miami Dolphins have 16 total free agents this offseason, which includes 12 unrestricted free agents.
Here is a profile of Miami's reserve running back:
Player: Daniel Thomas
Position: Running back
2014 stats: 44 carries, 168 yards, three touchdowns
Analysis: After four seasons, it's clear Thomas is a draft bust. The former 2011 second-round pick never lived up to the billing of becoming Miami's feature running back. In fact, Thomas initially didn't make the Dolphins' 53-man roster out of training camp. He was cut in the summer and re-signed in late September following an elbow injury to Knowshon Moreno. Thomas was simply a fill-in last season. He averaged 3.8 yards per carry spelling starter Lamar Miller. The Dolphins need to find a grinding, power tailback to complement Miller next season, and Thomas isn't the answer.
