The regular season is nearing its conclusion, and so is ESPN.com’s NFL Power Rankings.
The Miami Dolphins have been up and down the rankings this year, which is a reflection of their 8-7 record. There have been times when Miami looked like a playoff contender and other times the team simply wasn't good enough. In the end, the Dolphins missed the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season.
This week Miami is coming off a wild 37-35 victory over the Minnesota Vikings to end a two-game losing streak. Still, ESPN.com’s panel kept the Dolphins at No. 16 for the second consecutive week.
The Dolphins are very much a middle-of-the-pack team. Next year Miami must work on its consistency and figure out how to separate from the NFL's robust middle class.
