Morning take: Grimes doesn't want tag

Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories Wednesday from around the Web:

  • Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes doesn’t want the franchise tag.

Morning take: This is the obvious reaction, but the Dolphins hold the cards. They can bring him back for one year if Grimes can’t reach a long-term agreement.

  • Former Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo had some interesting comments on Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Morning take: Angelo was pretty clear that Tannehill wasn’t a franchise quarterback. Year 3 will be huge for Tannehill to prove his critics wrong.

Morning take: It should be Grimes, who turned out to be the best and most dependable defensive player this year. Defensive ends Cameron Wake and Oliver Vernon also had solid seasons.

  • Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post writes Cleveland Browns GM Ray Farmer shuns the Dolphins.

Morning take: Farmer bluntly said the Miami job wasn’t for him Tuesday. But Cleveland is just as dysfunctional. Both teams will be interesting to watch next year.
