Royals rookie triples in each of his first three hits

Kansas City Royals rookie Paulo Orlando became the first player in modern history to hit triples for each of his first three major league hits.

He’s the first player to hit three triples in a run of three hits since Jose Reyes did it with the New York Mets on May 5-6, 2011.

The last rookie with such a streak was Andrew McCutchen for the Pittsburgh Pirates from June 19 to June 21, 2009. The last player to have four consecutive hits go for triples was Bert Campaneris of the Kansas City Athletics, in August and September 1967.
