The Baltimore Orioles are reportedly eyeing two right-handed relievers as they attempt to fortify their bullpen this winter.
According to Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles have inquired about veterans Kevin Jepsen and Anthony Bass. An industry source told Encina that several teams have expressed interest in the two hurlers, but Baltimore's level of interest is unknown.
Bass spent the 2016 season overseas pitching for the Nippon Ham Fighters of the Japanese Pacific League. He appeared in 37 games, starting 14 of them, and went 8-8 with a 3.65 ERA.
The 29-year-old's last MLB appearance came in 2015. In 64 innings with the Texas Rangers that season, Bass submitted a 4.50 ERA while striking out 45 and walking 20.
