The Atlanta Braves might have another box to check off on their to-do list before the start of the 2017 season.
Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports writes that the Braves are on the hunt for a righty-hitting backup outfielder who can play center field.
The team could look to its stockpile of pitching prospects as trade chips in a move to acquire its ideal center fielder. ESPN's David Schoenfield notes that from 2014 to 2016, Atlanta acquired 16 pitching prospects through trading players (such as Jason Heyward, Justin Upton, Craig Kimbrel, Evan Gattis and Andrelton Simmons).
