WSOF featherweight champion Lance Palmer will defend his title at WSOF 26 on Dec. 18 in Las Vegas.
Officials confirmed the NBCSN-televised event on Wednesday, following a report by MMAJunkie.com. It will take place at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan.
Palmer (10-1) will face the winner of this weekend's bout between Marcos Alexandre Almeida and Saul Almeida. That fight is scheduled for WSOF 24 on Saturday in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Palmer, who trains out of Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, has finished his last three fights via submission.
Additionally, WSOF officials announced that 10-time world kickboxing champion Tyrone Spong (2-0) will fight on Dec. 18. His opponent is yet to be determined. Spong, 30, hasn't fought in professional MMA since August 2013. He missed most of 2014 after suffering a broken leg during a kickboxing match in April.
Fighting out of the Blackzilians camp in Boca Raton, Florida, Spong has appeared in two pro boxing matches this year. He won both via knockout.
"We are looking forward to making our debut at one of the finest venues in the fight capital of the world and to add another historic night of MMA action with the return of both Tyrone Spong, one of the sport's hottest commodities, and Lance Palmer, a prolific world champion," said WSOF president Ray Sefo.
