Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star wrote: "As of mid-May other teams were being told Kyle Lowry had 'zero interest' in returning to Toronto, even if the Raptors offered a maximum five-year deal. Which since the club had no intention of offering a five-year deal probably made Lowry's declaration easier to make."
Well, Lowry read the item and responded via Twitter and wrote: "Don't believe what you hear!! Especially if it didn't come from me, and that bs FOR SURE didn't come from me."
Lowry is to become an unrestricted free-agent on July 1 and it is thought by many that the the 11-year NBA veteran will re-sign with the Toronto Raptors despite the "zero interest" report by Arthur.
In the 2017 NBA playoffs, Lowry averaged 15.8 points, 5.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds.
