Rumor Central: Kemba Walker to sit out game in Johannesburg

The NBA will be in Johannesburg, South Africa, early next month for the Basketball Without Borders event, which also includes a game featuring many players from the continent. Charlotte Hornets starting point guard Kemba Walker is listed on the Team World roster, but he won't play in the game.

According to The Charlotte Observer, Walker is still recovering from surgery on May 17 to fix an issue with his left knee, so he will sit out the game on Aug. 5. While not playing in the game, Walker will participate in other activities surrounding the Basketball Without Borders event.

Walker, 27, is expected to be fully fit by the time Charlotte opens training camp on Sept. 26. In 2016-17, Walker averaged 23.2 points, 5.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 79 appearances.
