The Charlotte Observer reports that the Charlotte Hornets are set to sign guard Marcus Paige and center Mangok Mathiang to two-way contracts.
Per the new collective bargaining agreement, Paige and Mathiang can spend at most 45 days with the Hornets this coming season. The rest of the time they will be playing with Charlotte's G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm.
Paige, the No. 55 selection in the 2016 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz, spent the 2016-17 season playing for Utah's G League team, the Salt Lake City Stars. Paige made 46 appearances with the Stars and averaged 12.1 points, 2.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds.
Mathiang, from Australia, spent the last five years at Louisville and was not selected in the 2017 NBA draft. Mathiang played for Charlotte during the Orlando Summer League, where he averaged 4.4 points and 5.0 rebounds.
